OTA Builder Cookie Policy

The OTA Builder site stores two small things in your browser by default: your answer to the consent banner and your choice of a dark or light theme. Nothing else is stored until you agree to it.

Analytics cookies are set only after you say yes. Until then, no analytics run on this site, and nothing is sent to our analytics provider. The site is run by [operator company name to be published] at [operator address to be published], and cookie questions go to hello@ota-builder.com.

What this site stores by default

Two items, both about how the site behaves for you.

1. Your consent choice. When you answer the banner, the site stores that answer so it does not ask you again on every page.
2. Your theme preference. If you switch between the dark and light versions of the site, the site stores which one you picked.

Neither of these identifies you. Neither is shared with anyone. Both stay in your own browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The consent choice has to be stored even if you refuse analytics. Storing "no" is the only way the site can remember not to ask again and not to load anything you turned down.

What is stored only after you agree

One thing: analytics.

If you agree in the banner, the site loads our analytics provider, and that provider sets its own cookies in your browser. They count visits, show which pages are read and show how people move between pages. We use that to decide which guides to write and which pages to fix.

Our analytics provider sets those cookies under its own names and its own lifetimes, and it can change them. We do not list the names here, because a list we do not keep up to date is worse than no list. If you want to see exactly what is set in your browser, open your browser's own cookie or site data view for this site after you have agreed.

What we do not do

• We do not run advertising cookies on this site.
• We do not sell what analytics collects.
• We do not use analytics to build a profile of you for marketing.
• We do not load anything from our analytics provider before you agree.

How the consent banner works

The banner appears the first time you open the site. It gives you a clear yes and a clear no.

Everything that needs consent is set to denied before you answer. That is the starting state, not a fallback. Nothing loads while the banner sits there waiting, and closing the page without answering leaves everything denied.

When you choose, the site acts on the answer at once. Yes loads analytics on the page you are on. No loads nothing, and the site remembers the no.

How to change or withdraw your consent

You can change your mind at any time, in either direction, and you never need a reason.

1. If the site footer shows a cookie settings link, open it and change your answer there.
2. Clear the site data for this site in your browser. The banner then appears again as if it were your first visit.
3. Write to hello@ota-builder.com if you cannot find the setting, or if the banner does not behave the way this page describes.

Withdrawing consent stops analytics from running on the next page you open. Cookies your browser is already holding from our analytics provider are cleared through your browser's own site data view, which is the only place that can remove them.

You can also tell your browser to block cookies for this site entirely. That works too, and it is your call.

What happens if you say no

The site works normally. Every page, every guide and every form works exactly the same way with analytics turned off.

Saying no does not hide content, add a second banner, nag you later or change what you pay for anything. The only difference is that your visit is not counted in our numbers.

Forms are a separate thing

Cookies are not how this site collects information about you. The forms are. If you fill in the form on the start page, the contact page or the report abuse page, or if you sign up to the newsletter, you send us information directly.

That is covered in the privacy policy, including what each form collects, how long it is kept and how to ask for a copy or a deletion. Your answer to the cookie banner does not change any of it.

Sites built with OTA Builder

This policy covers the OTA Builder marketing site only. A travel booking website built with OTA Builder is run by its owner under their own brand, and that owner decides what their own site stores and publishes their own cookie policy. If you booked a trip somewhere and have a question about that site's cookies, ask the site you booked on.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when what the site stores changes. The date at the top shows when the current version was published. If we ever add a category of cookie beyond the two defaults and analytics, the banner will ask you about it before anything is set.
