OTA Builder Acceptable Use Policy

This policy sets the rules for every site built with OTA Builder. It explains what is not allowed, what happens when a rule is broken, and how to report a site.

Updated September 15, 2026

This acceptable use policy applies to every site built with OTA Builder and to everyone who holds an account. It forms part of the terms of service. The service is operated by [operator company name to be published] at [operator address to be published].

The rules exist for one reason. A traveler who books on your site is handing over money for a trip, and they need to know who they are buying from and what they are paying.

Do not impersonate anyone

Your site runs under your own brand and your own name. It must not pretend to be someone else.

  • Do not use the name, logo or branding of an airline, a hotel, a hotel group, an activity provider or another travel brand as if the site were theirs.
  • Do not present yourself as an official agent, partner or representative of a brand unless you really are one.
  • Do not copy another travel company's site, name or domain closely enough to confuse a traveler.
  • Do not present your site as OTA Builder itself, and do not claim to speak for OTA Builder.

You can say that your site sells flights on many airlines. You cannot dress it up as an airline's own site.

Do not mislead people about prices

You set your own markup and your own selling prices. Say what you charge, honestly.

  • Do not show a struck through price, a former price or a discount that was never real.
  • Do not advertise a price that a customer cannot actually book.
  • Do not add a charge at the end that you never mentioned before.
  • Do not compare your price with another company's price to make a sale.

Rates shown on sites built with OTA Builder include OTA Builder's service margin. Describe your prices as what they are: your prices.

Take payment through the checkout on your site

Your customers book and pay online on your site, and they receive their tickets and vouchers by email. That path is the only allowed one.

Do not send a customer to a bank transfer, a payment link in a chat message, a cash handover or any other route outside the checkout on your site. Doing that takes away the record the traveler needs and puts their money outside the booking. It is the fastest way to lose an account.

Verify your identity before a first payout

We verify identity before the first payout on an account, and we screen the name of every new site. You agree to give the documents asked for, and you agree that they will be about you or your business and will be real.

  • Do not open an account in someone else's name.
  • Do not use a name for your site that belongs to another company.
  • Do not send altered or borrowed documents.

Until verification is done, a payout does not happen. That is not a delay we can waive.

Do not use the service for illegal or deceptive purposes

Your site is a real business selling real trips. Use it that way.

  • Do not use bookings to move money that has nothing to do with travel.
  • Do not use stolen cards, stolen identities or stolen accounts.
  • Do not sell anything the law where you trade does not allow you to sell.
  • Do not use the site to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.
  • Do not attack the platform: no attempts to break into accounts, no scraping the booking engine, no testing stolen card numbers through your checkout.

You are responsible for the rules that apply where you trade, including business registration, tax and consumer rules. Those are covered in the terms of service.

What happens when a rule is broken

We respond in proportion to what happened. There are three steps.

  1. A warning. We write to the account holder, name the problem and say what to change. Most cases end here, because most cases are a bad price display or a brand name that went too far.
  2. Suspension. The site stops taking bookings while we look into it. We use this when the problem is repeated, when it is serious, or when a warning went unanswered.
  3. Removal. The site comes down and the account closes. We use this for impersonation, for fraud, for taking money outside the checkout and for anything that puts travelers at risk.

A traveler who already paid is not part of an argument about an account. If your account is suspended or closed and a customer of yours has a booking, write to hello@ota-builder.com about that booking.

If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@ota-builder.com and ask us to look again. Send what you changed and why. Replies arrive within two working days.

How to report a site

Anyone can report a site built with OTA Builder. Use the report abuse page. You do not need an account, and you do not need to have booked anything.

Tell us the address of the site, what you saw and when you saw it. A screenshot or an order reference helps. If you paid money and something went wrong, say what you paid for and how you paid.

What happens after a report

We read every report. We check the site, and we may ask you or the site owner for more. If a rule was broken, we take one of the three steps above. If nothing was broken, the site stays up.

We tell you that we received the report. We do not tell you what we decided about someone else's account, because that is their business, not ours to publish. If your report involves money you paid to a site, that is a matter between you and the site you booked on, and the refund policy explains why.

Build your travel booking website

Your brand, your domain and your markup on flights, hotels and activities. Building it, running it and selling on it are free.
